Westward Ho!

The nearest beach, Westward Ho!, is only 2 ½ miles away and boasts 1 ½ miles of award winning Blue Flag sand, which it’s held since 2003., A nominal parking charge of £3.50 is applicable from May through September, and free from October through April. The beach is also dog friendly all year round, with half the area available in the summer months. The beach also has RLNI lifeguards in operation from May through September.

Instow

Just around the corner is Instow. This beach is a smaller, but is better protected from the weather, and is fully accessible even at high tide, which makes it the ideal places for those with young children. There are numerous bars and cafes within a minutes walk, and pay & display parking at either end. Free parking is available for 45 minutes on the front, which is ideal for a quick stroll. The beach is also dog friendly all year round.

Saunton Sands

Slightly further afield is Saunton Sands; 20 miles. This privately owned 3 miles beach boasts the largest sand dune in England. The beach is popular with surfers. There are 3 zones for dogs. Zone A is from the slipway north to the rocks and dogs are banned here. Zone B stretches from the slipway south for 1/4 mile until the red dog bin and dogs are allowed here with leads. South of the red dog bin is Zone C where dogs are allowed without leads

Croyde

23 miles from High Park, Croyde is just 3 miles further on from Saunton Sands, and has a small 0.4 mile long beach, and is extremely popular with surfers.

Putsborough / Woolacomb

25 miles from High Park, Putsborough / Woolacomb is another beautiful 2 mile long beach

Bude

23 miles south, Bude is a small but popular surfing beach.
